The University of Piraeus experience in Tourism
The University of Piraeus has extensive experience in research, teaching, and operational support in the critical field of tourism, tourism development, tourism business management, and tourism economics.
It has the appropriate teaching and research staff specialized in the field of tourism, with Professors of the University of Piraeus having previously held key positions in public sector organizations in the tourism industry, as well as serving as consultants to major tourism enterprises.
The history of the University of Piraeus is inextricably linked to the field of tourism since it was here that the first National University Center for Greek and European Studies and Tourism Education operated.
Today, the University of Piraeus successfully runs the first Master’s Program in Business Administration – Tourism Management (MBA Tourism Management) of the Department of Business Administration of the School of Economics, Business and International Studies, as well as a distance learning (e-learning) program in Business Administration with a specialization in Tourism Services. Additionally, specialized doctoral theses, research papers in scientific journals, presentations at international conferences, and dissertations in the specialized field of tourism are conducted.
Finally, through its Research Center and research laboratories, the University of Piraeus has implemented numerous development projects and special studies specialized in tourism.
