Dr. Ioannis Katsanakis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Studies of the University of Piraeus in the field of Information Systems Management in Enterprises and Organizations with a focus on Business Process Management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration – Total Quality (MBA-TQM) from the University of Piraeus. He holds a PhD from the Department of Business Administration of the University of Piraeus in the field of Strategic Information Systems and the Use of New Technologies in Business, entitled: “Development and Evaluation of Information Systems in Modern Business”. He has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Departments of Tourism Studies and Business Administration of the University of Piraeus, as well as undergraduate courses at the Department of Biotechnology of the Agricultural University of Athens and at the Undergraduate Programs in Business Administration and Tourism Management of the Hellenic Open University. He has also supervised postgraduate theses in the MSc in Business Administration (MBA) of the Hellenic Open University. His research interests focus on the application of new technologies in business, the strategic use of new technologies, strategic management, information systems, information systems evaluation, system analysis, e-business, knowledge management and e-learning, while he has worked in entrepreneurship, ICT and e-learning research programs at the University of Piraeus.
